I greatly enjoy both playing and developing games, often using Unity and C# to explore how to re-create and improve upon my favorite elements and mechanics of retail games. I have shipped two retail games, worked on a handful of game jam projects, and produced countless prototypes.
Retail Projects
These are retail game projects on which I have worked.
Colton's Runaway Rails
Android - Released May 6, 2022
Join Colton, the jolly minecart, as he abandons his humdrum life in the mines to explore the wider world. Follow Colton on his journey in Adventure Mode, or embark on an endless procedurally-generated track in Endless Mode. Heavily inspired by the minecart stages in such games as Donkey Kong Country.
Spin the Beat
PC/Mac - Released May 5, 2017
Jump-n-dodge arcade-style action to the beat of the music. Up to four players choose to cooperate to stay alive and keep the game going for as long as possible, or compete to be the last one standing; all set to the beat of a soundtrack which is generated by the game in real time. Released for PC and Mac in 2017.
Other Projects
This is a sampling of a few smaller projects I've done, whether for Game Jams, independent learning exercises, or simply personal enjoyment. More projects will appear here as time goes on, and those already here may be updated!
Create With Code Game Jam - October 2020 - "Riddle House"
I created this game over the course of 72 hours for the Create With Code Game Jam in October of 2020. The theme for the jam was "secrets," for which I made a first-person exploration game about solving riddles and finding hidden cards in a haunted mansion. Can you find all eight Secret Cards while solving all the house's puzzles?
This game is presented as it was at the conclusion of the game jam, save for a handful of fixes to ensure stability.
Seattle Indies Slow Jam - November 2023 - "Fat Lizard Game"
I was part of the team that made this game for the Seattle Indies Slow Jam in November 2023, which took place over the course of 2 weeks. The theme of the jam was "The More the Merrier," which is shown in the game by the ever-increasing number of insects you must collect to feed your pet lizard.
I wrote the game's music (heard in the above trailer) and modeled, textured, rigged, and animated several creature models, one of which can be seen on this site's "3D Art" page. I also modeled and textured the house seen in the game.
